Brin-Jonathan Butler has written for Esquire, Bloomberg Magazine, ESPN Magazine, Playboy, Harper's, The Paris Review, Southwest: The Magazine, Al Jazeera, and Vice. His first book, The Domino Diaries, was shortlisted for the PEN/ESPN Award for literary sports writing and a Boston Globe Best Book of 2015. The Grandmaster was published by Simon and Schuster in 2018 and long-listed for the RBC Taylor Prize. Butler's work has also been anthologized in both Best American Sports and Best American Travel Writing multiple times.
